How much does dinner in Barcelona cost? A three-course dinner, without drinks, runs at about €33 per person. À la carte it comes to a €32.75 median, and on each restaurant's cheapest set dinner menu, to €35.
There is no official «average price of a dinner» that measures this, so we estimate it from the prices restaurants publish on Appetece. Here is how, with what data and where it falls short. Data from 15 October 2026.
How much does dinner cost in Barcelona
Two ways to measure it, with different samples:
| À la carte (starter + main + dessert) | Published set dinner menu | |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurants | 279 | 57 |
| Median | €32.75 | €35 |
| Mean | €35.18 | €44.31 |
| One in four charges less than | €26.30 | €26.98 |
| One in four charges more than | €41 | €55 |
The number to trust is the median: the price of the restaurant right in the middle. On set menus the mean shoots up (€44) because of a tail of tasting menus and hotel restaurants at €85 to €130.
What each course costs
À la carte, the median across restaurants is, per course:
- Starter: about €10.
- Main: about €16.
- Dessert: about €6.
Added up, €32; the €32.75 total comes from adding the three courses within each restaurant and then taking the median, so it does not match the individual medians to the cent.
How the restaurants are spread
À la carte, for a three-course dinner without drinks:
| Price | Restaurants | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Under €25 | 62 | 22% |
| €25 to €35 | 101 | 36% |
| €35 to €50 | 88 | 32% |
| €50 to €70 | 23 | 8% |
| Over €70 | 5 | 2% |
Almost six in ten dine for under €35. Only one in ten goes above €50.
Dinner prices in Barcelona by district
Median three-course à la carte dinner, without drinks. We only show districts with at least 14 restaurants in the sample.
| District | Restaurants | Median |
|---|---|---|
| Sants-Montjuïc | 20 | €25.79 |
| Gràcia | 14 | €26.15 |
| Ciutat Vella | 57 | €32.95 |
| Sant Martí | 21 | €33.20 |
| Eixample | 115 | €33.70 |
| Les Corts | 14 | €35.70 |
| Sarrià-Sant Gervasi | 21 | €36.50 |
Sants-Montjuïc and Gràcia are about €7 cheaper than Ciutat Vella, Sant Martí and the Eixample, which sit together between €33 and €34. Sarrià-Sant Gervasi and Les Corts are the priciest.
This table cannot be built from set dinner menus: there are 57 restaurants spread over seven districts, and only three or four in each of the small ones.
Dinner on a set menu: from €17
Among the 57 restaurants with a published dinner menu, the cheapest menu of each venue breaks down like this:
| Price of the cheapest menu | Restaurants |
|---|---|
| Under €25 | 10 |
| €25 to €35 | 17 |
| €35 to €50 | 11 |
| €50 to €70 | 12 |
| Over €70 | 7 |
There are dinner menus from €16.95. Almost half of the 96 menus (46) include a drink, and 40 come with a starter, main and dessert. The cheapest match the lunch set menu (€16.90 median); the median of the dinner menus, though, is €35.
If you want a long, fixed dinner, look at Barcelona tasting menus; if you are going as a group, company and group dinners have their own priced list.
How we calculated it and what it does not say
There are two measures and both are estimates:
- Set dinner menus. Dinner-type menus published by open, visible Barcelona restaurants on Appetece, excluding group menus. For each venue, the cheapest one is used. That gives 57 restaurants and 96 menus.
- The carta. For each restaurant, the median price of its starters, mains and desserts, added together. Only restaurants with at least 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts with a price are included: 279 restaurants.
Do they agree? For the 10 restaurants that have both, the à la carte estimate comes out a median 3% below the dinner menu. But venue by venue it varies a lot (from 0.74 to 2.13 times): it works as an order of magnitude, not as the price of any one restaurant.
What it does not say:
- Drinks are not included in the à la carte estimate.
- The carta does not tell dinner from lunch, so it may fall short for restaurants that raise prices at night.
- Bias. Only restaurants that publish their carta or menu with prices are included.
- It is not the real average bill, which includes drinks, coffee, cover charge and tip, and whatever each table actually orders.
That is why we say «about €33» and not «€32.75» as if it were exact. We will repeat the measurement when the data changes.
What to check before dinner
- Weekday or weekend. Some restaurants have a different dinner menu for the weekend, at another price.
- Drinks. Almost half of the menus include them; à la carte, add them to the price.
- Minimum number of diners. Some dinner menus are for sharing and ask for 2, 4 or 6 people.
- Booking. On each restaurant's page you can see its carta and book.

How does Appetece calculate the price of a dinner?
Two ways that cross-check each other. One uses the set dinner menus restaurants publish. The other uses the menu (carta): the median of each restaurant's starters, mains and desserts, added together, only for restaurants with enough priced dishes. It is still an estimate: the carta does not tell dinner from lunch.
