When Gràcia takes down the tissue paper, it's Sants' turn. Festa Major de Sants 2026 runs from August 22 to 30: eleven decorated streets, over 400 concerts, and a neighborhood that spends nine days operating like a village inside the city.
And like any village, it has to eat. Sants has an advantage over other neighborhoods during its festival: its restaurants don't live off tourism, so they keep serving menú del día as normal while the music plays outside.
When Festa Major de Sants 2026 takes place
The pregó (opening speech) is given by actress and director Leticia Dolera on Saturday the 22nd at 8:00 pm, from the balcony of Casa del Mig, in Parc de l'Espanya Industrial.
Street activities run from August 22 to 29, with around fifty events a day: correfocs, castellers, sardanes, giants, workshops, communal dinners and dances. It closes on Sunday the 30th with the piromusical.
Entry costs nothing. Neither do the concerts.
The decorated streets of 2026
Eleven neighborhood committees compete in the decoration contest. Some of this year's themes:
- Alcolea de Dalt — the historic Montjuïc racing circuit
- Alcolea de Baix — The Lost Sock
- Finlàndia — Mad Laboratory (celebrating 45 years)
- Galileu — Hollywood, complete with a walk of fame
- Guadiana — Magic Bakery
- Plaça de la Farga — inspired by Lorax, with an environmental message
- Vallespir de Dalt — Ratatouille
- Valladolid — the Silk Road
- Papin — the 1936 People's Olympiad
A practical detail: if you're heading to Galileu for the walk of fame, La Cua Curta is at Galileu 30 and serves a lunch menu at €23.50. See the street and eat on the same trip.
Where to eat menú del día in Sants
The Sants-Montjuïc district has 191 restaurants on Appetece and around 20 publish a menu every day. The interesting part is the mix: here the menú del día isn't just Catalan cooking, it's Korean, Peruvian, chifa, Japanese and Moroccan at neighborhood prices.
The ones running right now, with real prices:
- Kangnam (Jaume Roig, 8) — Korean, €13.90. Best-rated in the neighborhood with over 2,200 reviews.
- La Turuleca (Arizala, 5) — Peruvian, €15.90. Two steps from Plaça de Sants.
- Chifa Cholo Chang (Carrer de Sants, 32) — Peruvian-Chinese chifa, €14.90. Right on the neighborhood's main artery, as central as it gets during the festival.
- Yoüme Sushi (Arizala, 18) — Japanese, €14.95.
- Halal Marrakech (Béjar, 87) — Moroccan, €12.50, over on the Hostafrancs side.
- Timesburg Sants (Moianès, 75) — €12.95 lunch menu.
- 4 Latas (Vilardell) — lunch deal at €11.90, with a terrace, which during the festival is worth something.
- Veganashi (Carrer de Lleida) — vegan Japanese, €14.90, heading down towards Montjuïc.

If you want something more celebratory, Absis sits at the Mirador del Palau Nacional with a lunch menu at €35 and the best views in the district. It isn't a neighborhood menú del día, but during the festival it makes sense.
Eating in the neighborhood during the festival
Eat before the party. The big events start in the afternoon. A menú del día at 1:00 or 1:30 pm leaves you the rest of the day free and the streets still walkable.
Move one block off the decorated streets. The atmosphere still reaches you; the queue doesn't. Carrer de Sants and Creu Coberta concentrate everyone; Arizala, Moianès or Vilardell are just around the corner.
Careful with August. It's the month when most neighborhood restaurants close for holidays. The prices above come from menus published today, but it's worth confirming before you turn up at the door — or checking what's open in Sants on the day.
On correfoc days, forget the terrace. Old clothes, table indoors, and dinner afterwards.
Sants doesn't end with the festival
