Festes de Gràcia 2026: Where to Eat Menú del Día

Every August, Gràcia stops being just a neighborhood and turns into a stage set: entire streets wrapped in tissue paper, human towers (castells) in the square, and a festival that runs a full week. In 2026, Festes de Gràcia runs from August 15 to 21, and even though the music takes over, the neighborhood keeps feeding people at lunchtime — with menú del día, same as any other week.

When are Festes de Gràcia 2026

The festival kicks off Saturday the 15th with the Convidada dels Gegants and wraps up Friday the 21st with a scavenger hunt honoring Gaudí's legacy. In between: the Diada Castellera on Sunday the 16th, the Decorated Streets Contest awards on Wednesday the 19th, and close to 900 activities packed into seven days. Monday the 17th is the only quiet night on the program, kept deliberately calm so the neighborhood can rest.

Food has its own space too: Tasta Gràcia, in the Jardins de Manuel Torrente, plus a craft fair in Plaça de la Virreina and Plaça del Diamant. But the neighborhood's everyday food — its menú del día restaurants — keeps running through the festival; they don't close for it.

With streets closed off and packed with people, eating in Gràcia these days has its own logic:

• Book ahead if you can. Spots on the streets with activity fill up earlier than usual.
• Walk a couple of streets away from the century-old comissions (Providència, Tordera) if you want a quieter meal — the atmosphere is still there, minus the queue.
• Midday is easier than night. Concerts and verbenas start after sunset; eating menú del día at 1-2pm leaves you the rest of the day for the festival.
